Xi Jinping writes letter to navy submarine crew
Strive to forge comprehensive and excellent underwater pioneers
Make greater contributions to the realization of the military’s 100-year goal
Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, May 11 – Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, recently wrote a reply letter to all officers and soldiers of a certain crew of the Navy’s submarine force, expressing cordial encouragement to them.
In his letter, Xi Jinping said, reading the letter from the crew reminded him of the good times he spent with them 10 years ago. I am very happy to know that you have bravely shouldered heavy responsibilities, dared to be the first, overcome a series of difficulties, and completed all the tasks assigned to you.
Xi Jinping emphasized that the submarine force is fighting in the deep sea and ocean, and its mission is glorious and its responsibility is heavy. I hope that comrades will keep in mind the great trust of the party and the people, continuously improve their ability to fulfill missions and tasks, strive to forge comprehensive and competent underwater vanguards, and make greater contributions to the realization of the centenary goal of the army.
A certain crew team of the naval submarine force is an important force in the construction of a new type of submarine combat capability in our country. In April 2013, Xi Jinping visited the officers and soldiers of the crew, had lunch with them and had in-depth exchanges. Over the past 10 years, the crew has faithfully performed their duties and successfully completed many major tasks such as combat readiness for voyages and test exercises. The Central Military Commission has awarded them collective first-class merit twice. Recently, all officers and soldiers of the crew wrote a letter to Chairman Xi with affection, expressing their firm belief and determination to keep in mind the command of the commander, strengthen military training and preparation, and improve the ability to win.
