Young people
Good young people in the new era in the heart of the general secretary
A hundred years ago, a group of passionate young people held up the torch of truth and opened up a world-wide career.
A hundred years later, countless high-spirited young people have taken on the heavy responsibility of history and devoted themselves to the journey of national rejuvenation.
Time goes by, the times have changed dramatically, and youth has come down in one continuous line.
At the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping issued a great call——
“The majority of young people must unswervingly listen to and follow the party’s words, embrace dreams and be down-to-earth, dare to think and do things, and be good at doing good things. They must be determined to be good young people in the new era who have ideals, dare to take responsibility, can endure hardships, and are willing to struggle. Brilliant flowers are blooming in the fiery practice of comprehensively building a modern socialist country.”
(1) Be a young person with ideals
A leafy red boat set sail amidst the wind and rain. In the summer of 1921, at Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, they looked resolute and their eyes were firm.
The founding of the Communist Party of China was announced, like a thunderclap piercing the dark night, bringing hope to the twilight old China. The average age of one representative is 28 years old, exactly the age of Mao Zedong at that time.
On July 1, 2021, in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, red flags were like a sea and flowers were gorgeous.
At the Centennial Celebration of the Communist Party of China, youth representatives wore shining regiment emblems and bright red scarves, and loudly shouted the sonorous oath of “please rest assured that the party will strengthen the country.” General Secretary Xi Jinping said with emotion: “This is what Chinese teenagers in the new era should look like.”
Aiming for a future career, mostly for the youth. “The Communist Party of China is a party that always maintains its youthful characteristics, and it is a party that is always worthy of the trust and follow of young people.”
In the heart of General Secretary Xi Jinping, the power of youth, the surge of youth, and the creation of youth have always been the majestic force that pushes the Chinese nation to move forward bravely and stand tall among the nations of the world!
From childhood to adulthood, I have taken countless classes. One of the lessons was unforgettable for Li Qiyu, a student from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Macau.
On December 19, 2019, the figure of General Secretary Xi Jinping appeared in the Elite School Affiliated to Macau Haojiang Middle School. More than half a year ago, Li Qiyu and his classmates wrote a letter to Grandpa Xi. They did not expect to receive a reply from Beijing soon, and the signer: Xi Jinping.
It was a rare meeting between “pen pals”, and the words were very meaningful——
“Chinese civilization is the only ancient civilization that has not stopped flowing. The five thousand years of history is the source of our cultural confidence.” “Only by understanding the history of humiliation of the Chinese nation after the Opium War can we have a deeper understanding of the Chinese people’s great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.” strong desire.”
Zhi, the handsome man of Qi.
At the meeting to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Marx’s birth, General Secretary Xi Jinping quoted Marx’s high school graduation composition “Considerations of Youth in Choosing a Career”-”If we choose a career that can work best for mankind, then the burden cannot take us overwhelming”.
Young people, the soul of the country. The ideals and beliefs of youth are related to the future of the nation.
On May 4, 2013, the first May 4th Youth Day after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping came to the China Academy of Space Technology of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation to participate in the theme group day activities.
Pei Xianfeng’s speech was full of vigor and vigor. This “post-90s” rural child has become a skilled electric welding technician in just a few years through diligent study and hard work. He won the silver medal in the welding event in the World Skills Competition and achieved a breakthrough of zero medals for Chinese people in this event.
Talking about his own growth experience, Pei Xianfeng said: “Only by practicing the excellent skills required for national construction can one realize one’s youthful dreams and achieve one’s beautiful life.”
The general secretary praised: “Through your hard work, the youth cause you have achieved is highly compatible with the cause of the party, the country, and the people. In this way, the spectrum of the cause will be broader and the energy will be stronger.”
Every generation has its chances, and every generation of youth has its mission.
General Secretary Xi Jinping profoundly pointed out the theme of the era of the Chinese youth movement, and pointed out the direction for the life ideals of good young people in the new era-strive for the realization of the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Because of this, when faced with vigorous faces, the general secretary always guides the meaning of the young generation to the country and the nation on the basis of history:
“You guys were born in a prosperous age. At this time, you will become the ministers and talents of the ‘two hundred years’. You must be able to hold on. This Chinese dragon must have a backbone and support Only if she can hold on, can she soar higher.”
“We are determined to achieve a good result for the youth, and we also expect the current young generation to achieve better results in the future.”
(2) Be a young man who dares to take responsibility
On New Year’s Eve, when the lights were on, General Secretary Xi Jinping’s 2023 New Year’s message arrived as scheduled.
In the congratulatory speech, General Secretary Xi Jinping praised youth and sent a message to the youth: “Tomorrow’s China, hope is placed on the youth. The prosperity of the youth will lead to the prosperity of the country, and China’s development depends on the youth’s commitment.”
Throughout history, taking responsibility has always been a distinctive feature of progressive youth.
Xie Xiaoyu, who lives in the East Lake New Town Community in Wuhan, has an unforgettable memory in her youth. The century epidemic struck, and she went home for the winter vacation, becoming the youngest volunteer in the community.
At the most difficult moment, Xie Xiaoyu met General Secretary Xi Jinping who came to visit them.
At the community party-mass service center, the general secretary kindly asked this childish young man wearing black-rimmed glasses: “Are you 20 years old?” “Is it hard to be a volunteer?”
Facing the warm eyes of the general secretary, Xie Xiaoyu said frankly: “I want to do something meaningful.”
From Xie Xiaoyu, the general secretary has seen the fearless responsibility of young people in the new era: “In the past, some people said that they are the generation of Jiao Didi, but now, they have become the main force in the front line of fighting the epidemic.”
Youth shines only when you are responsible and responsible.
The epidemic was raging, and the “post-95” community doctor Gan Ruyi braved the cold wind and rain, traveled through day and night, and rode 300 kilometers alone to return to Wuhan in the “storm”;
In a decisive battle to get rid of poverty, Huang Wenxiu, who was under 30 years old, gave up her job opportunity in a big city, took the initiative to invite Yingying to take root in the mountains, started the “long march in the heart”, and wrote a song of youth without regret;
The fire was in an emergency, and the young forest firefighters in Muli, Sichuan were desperate to stop the spreading fire with their youthful loyalty, and freeze the heroic fighting posture in the vast forest of Liangshan;
...
As long as the country and the people call, there will always be a figure of youth, advancing to the depths of difficulties.
“As long as young people are brave enough to shoulder heavy responsibilities, overcome difficulties, and fight risks, socialism with Chinese characteristics will be full of vitality, stamina, and hope.” General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized.
“Clear love, only for China”, this is the battle cry written by the 18-year-old martyr Chen Xiangrong. Guarding the tranquility of the frontier, this young soldier defended the dignity of his homeland with his life.
Squad leader Sun Tao remembered that he had a conversation with Chen Xiangrong: “You are a ‘post-00’ recruit, why is your slogan so ‘big’?”
“Squad leader, this has nothing to do with age, I just think so, and I will do the same.”
On May 10, 2022, at the meeting celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping said affectionately: “‘Clear love, only for China’ has become the strongest voice from the heart of contemporary Chinese youth. “
The fire of youth burns for the nation; the heart of youth beats for the motherland.
On March 5, 2023, at the deliberation site of the Jiangsu delegation at the National Two Sessions, Wei Qiao, a representative of the “post-80s”, told the general secretary about his experience of returning to his hometown to start a business.
The young chairman of the Yongxing Agricultural Machinery Mechanization Professional Cooperative in Zhenjiang New District, Zhenjiang City, resigned from his job in Beijing six years ago and returned to the countryside to become an expert in digital field planting.
“It’s great for comrades like Wei Qiao to go to the countryside!” Hope fields for rural revitalization are a stage for young people to start their own businesses.
Forests, seas and fields, islands and frontiers, workshops and factories...Looking at China, the figures of hard-working young people are busy in the vast world of the new era.
“The times call for responsibility, and national rejuvenation is the responsibility of youth.”
The words of General Secretary Xi Jinping inspired the hearts of young people: “Youth have lofty ambitions, and it is the right time to make meritorious deeds. If you don’t fight at this time, wait until when, take responsibility, and who else can I do!”
(3) Be a good young man who can endure hardships
In the midsummer of 2022, General Secretary Xi Jinping came to the Military Reclamation Museum of the Xinjiang Corps.
In the exhibition hall, the general secretary stopped in front of a huge photo wall. The black and white light and shadow freezes the youthful faces and a period of blue and blue years. In the 1950s, inspired by “defending the frontier and building the frontier”, countless young people from all over the motherland bid farewell to their homeland and went to Tianshan Mountain.
On the deserted desert of Gobi, they ate cornbread and saline-alkaline water, slept in earthen nests without doors and windows, climbed ice and snow, and were carried on their shoulders.
“You have come through hard work and made indelible contributions.” Facing the representatives of the three generations of builders of the Corps, the old, middle-aged and young, the general secretary said affectionately.
The memory of youth will never fade.
Just after the New Year in 1969, Xi Jinping, who was less than 16 years old, came to northern Shaanxi from Beijing after traveling by train, truck and on foot.
On the ten-mile mountain road, I picked two heavy bundles of wheat without changing shoulders for a long time; in the cold winter months, I was the first to jump into the cesspool to pick up manure; “... In Liangjiahe deep in the Loess Plateau, Xi Jinping, an educated youth, does all kinds of work and endures all kinds of hardships. He is a “good young man who endures hardships and stands hard work” in the eyes of the villagers.
Looking back on those days, he said: Difficulties can temper a person’s will. The seven years of hard life in the mountains and the countryside gave me a lot of training. When I encountered difficulties later, I remembered that I could still do things under such difficult conditions at that time. Why not do it now?
Youth, where should we exert our strength, whom should we use affection for, and how should we put our heart into it? This is a life question that young Xi Jinping often thinks about.
In 1987, Xi Jinping, then vice mayor of Xiamen City, said to Zhang Hongliang, a young man who had just graduated from Xiamen University: “I went to Liangjiahe high school and Liangjiahe university. Only after I went to this high school and university will I have a great influence on the common people. Deep feelings. You must go to the grassroots level to cultivate feelings for the common people, to improve yourself, to do practical things, and to achieve real results.”
“The seedlings are pier in the ground, so that they can eat the soil deeper, take root more solidly, resist lodging and stand in the wind and rain. Young people build a pier at the grassroots level and make the foundation solid, so that the road ahead can be more stable. Farther.” At the 2013 National Organization Work Conference, General Secretary Xi Jinping said earnestly.
On the May 4th Youth Day in 1990, Xi Jinping, who was about to leave Ningde and be transferred to Fuzhou, suggested to the comrades who came to hand over the work: “Let’s also make innovations in the handover of our prefectural committees. Today, we will not hand over in the office, but go to the grassroots!”
So they set off in the early morning when it was drizzling, and visited many enterprises, factories, and villages, asked the people the truth, listened to their hearts, and said goodbye... In Tanyang Village, Xi Jinping revealed his heart to the local cadres and the masses: “ The green hills are not old, the green water flows forever, and after drinking Tanyang Kungfu tea, people are always in love. My heart and yours will always be together.”
That year, Xi Jinping was 37 years old.
In the summer of 2022, General Secretary Xi Jinping was surrounded by enthusiastic students in the Qiushi Auditorium of Sichuan Yibin University.
Liu Jiang, who was about to graduate, told the general secretary that he had served as a soldier. The general secretary asked with concern, “Where did you serve as a soldier?”
“Bohu Squadron, Bayingoleng Detachment, Xinjiang Armed Police Corps.”
“How many years have you stayed there?”
“Two years.”
“It’s good to have this experience. This is how steel is tempered.” The general secretary praised.
Braving the severe cold of minus 30 degrees Celsius, he came to the border post of Aershan, Inner Mongolia in the wind and snow, and stood guard with the officers and soldiers patrolling the border defense line, and called Wu Jingwei, the youngest, to stand beside him for a group photo;
As the Spring Festival approached, I came to visit the courier boys in Shitou Hutong, Qianmen, Beijing. I learned that everyone could only return to their hometown for the New Year at the age of 30, and praised them emotionally for being “like hardworking bees, the hardest workers”;
Reply to the representatives of the graduates of Hebei Baoding College’s western education support group, affirming their choice of going to the western and border areas where the conditions are difficult, taking root in grassroots teaching and educating people, and encouraging the majority of young people to “be good sons and daughters with aspirations everywhere, and those who have the aspirations will struggle without regrets”...
The care and encouragement of General Secretary Xi Jinping has inspired young people in the new era to work hard at the grassroots level, serve the people, and sharpen themselves.
“When you are young, if you choose hardship, you will choose harvest, and if you choose dedication, you will choose nobility.”
“The younger generation should inherit and carry forward the spirit of hard work, self-reliance, and hard work, abandon arrogance and arrogance, and engrave youthful blood on historical monuments like our fathers.”
The earnest words carry the deepest expectations.
(4) Be a young man who is willing to struggle
The rhythm of youth always resonates with the times.
From the thinking of “youth to the society is like fresh and lively cells in the human body” and “the civilization of youth is the civilization of struggle” to the heroic spirit of “struggling with others and having endless fun” “dare to teach the sun and the moon to change the sky”... ...The times and scenes have changed, and the imprint of the struggle of Chinese youth has always been clearly visible.
In May 1939, at the Yan’an Celebration Model Youth Conference, Comrade Mao Zedong pointed out profoundly that “the Chinese youth movement has a very good revolutionary tradition, and this tradition is ‘perpetual struggle’” “What is a model youth? one article”.
In May 2018, at the teacher-student symposium in Peking University Yanyuan, General Secretary Xi Jinping quoted the speech in “Eternal Struggle” and sent a message to the students:
“Happiness comes from struggle, and struggle itself is a kind of happiness.” “Every young person should cherish this great era and be a struggler in the new era.”
Youthful ideals, youthful vigor, and youthful struggle are the vitality of the Chinese spirit and Chinese power.
On the May 4th Youth Day in 2013, the General Secretary came among young friends to talk about youth together.
“Climbing to the top of the world and exploring the magical nature have been my childhood dreams.” As the first female college student in my country to successfully summit Mount Everest, Chen Chen from China University of Geosciences reported her feelings to the general secretary.
“I admire you very much.” After listening to Chen Chen’s speech, General Secretary Xi Jinping felt a lot. “For Mount Everest, I am ‘the mountain looks up, the scenery stops, and although I can’t reach it, I yearn for it’. When I was in my early 20s , served as the party branch secretary of the brigade, and went to Sichuan to learn the technology of developing biogas in rural areas. After finishing the work, it was very difficult to climb Mount Emei when the mountain was covered by heavy snow. When going down the mountain, we went to a small restaurant to eat Dandan noodles.
The general secretary went on to say: “A person has only one youth in his life. Now, youth is for struggle; in the future, youth is for remembering.”
Youth shines through tempering, and life is sublimated because of struggle. If you choose “Buddhism”, you will not be able to climb the peak of your career; if you choose “Lie Flat”, it will be difficult to appreciate the ultimate scenery.
On June 23, 2021, General Secretary Xi Jinping had a special “world-to-earth call” with the astronauts of Shenzhou 12. The “post-80s” and “post-90s” who escorted this dialogue also “fired” out of the circle .
At the Central Talent Work Conference held a few months later, the General Secretary mentioned this detail—”Most of them are young people, in their 30s and 40s, but they are all in charge of important positions.”
Young people are always new, the most innovative enthusiasm, the most innovative motivation.
The average age of the core personnel of the Beidou satellite team is 36 years old, the average age of the quantum science team is 35 years old, and the average age of the China Tianyan FAST R&D team is 30 years old... “Mozi”, “Tianwen” and “Chang’e” are in the cause of the dream of national rejuvenation. Young people can be seen everywhere.
Youth is boundless, and struggle leads to success.
Beijing Winter Olympics, an extraordinary “ice and snow event”, the “post-00s” teenager Su Yiming wearing a five-star red flag is as bright as fire.
“Born in a great country and growing up in the best era”, after winning the championship, Su Yiming wrote a letter to the general secretary, reporting on his hard training, self-breakthrough, and struggle to realize his dreams.
“Student Yiming: Hello! I have received your letter.” Not long after, Su Yiming received warm encouragement and heavy expectations, “I hope you will care about the motherland, have lofty aspirations, be down-to-earth, and create a wonderful life through struggle. Contribute youth and strength to the motherland and the people.”
Struggle is the brightest background of youth; struggle brings immortal glory.
Looking back at the magnificent long river of history, it is precisely because of the continuous struggle of generations of “youthful self” that today’s affectionate confession of “I have no regrets in China in this life” and the confidence of “looking at the world at the same level” today.
Going to the expedition of glory and dreams, young people in the new era must run hard on the track of youth, stir up the surging spring tide of national rejuvenation with youthful energy and creativity, and strive to create a better China with youthful wisdom and sweat !
